Rachel Goldsmith, BSc. RMT, RKIN
Rachel is a light-hearted and compassionate individual whose caring nature is evident in her work as a dual registrant of Kinesiology and Massage therapy. Rachel completed her BSc in Kinesiology with a focus in Neurology and Rehabilitation at the University of Waterloo. While at the university, Rachel studied under some of the leaders in Neuromuscular Disorders, Lower Back Pain and Concussion Management. Rachel volunteered with Registered Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists and Neuropsychologists in KW to provide rehabilitation to individuals in the community who were recovering from neurological insult (Concussion, Stroke, MS, CP). She worked with her clients of all ages to achieve goals such as relearning to walk, improving cardiac health, reducing muscle spasticity and returning back to work or to hobbies including cross-country skiing, biking, swimming, and horseback riding. Rachel also helped carry out activity programs at KidsAbility designed to promote functional movement through play!
Massage Therapy was a natural next step for Rachel to develop her professional portfolio and skills to better help her clients. Massage therapy enhanced Rachel's ability to assess injuries of the musculoskeletal system and to develop treatment plans for her clients.
As an RMT, Rachel has continued to work in neuro-rehabilitation with clients suffering Aquired Brain Injury, Stroke, MS; as well as, clients suffering from musculoskeletal pain, tendonitis, work and sport injuries, headaches, and stress.
